Buoyline is a practice app for the boater safety exams in Florida and California: original questions, a practice exam in your state's format, and an explanation and source for every answer.
A question, a problem, or an answer in the app you think is wrong? Email [email protected]. A real person reads it and will answer.
For a faster answer, tell us your state, the topic, what you did and what happened, and your device and iOS version.
Open the unlock screen and tap "Bought it before? Restore purchase" at the bottom.
If that doesn't work, check that this device is signed in with the same Apple ID you bought with. The app has no account: your purchase lives in your Apple ID's purchase history. Still stuck? Email us at the address at the top of this page.
Install the app, open the unlock screen and tap "Bought it before? Restore purchase". You don't pay again. Your practice progress is stored on your old device and only comes back through a backup of that device.
The first five questions of every topic, and one full practice exam for each state. The free practice exam has the same questions every time.
Every question for Florida and California, unlimited practice exams with different questions each time, and mistake review. It is a one-time purchase, with no subscription. The price is shown in the app and on the App Store; Apple handles the payment.
No. This app is for practice only. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a part of any government agency, and it is not an approved boating safety course. It does not issue a boater card or certificate.
To get your card, complete a boating safety course or exam approved by your state: in Florida, through the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission; in California, through the Division of Boating and Waterways.
We write every question ourselves from public sources: U.S. Coast Guard rules and publications, federal regulations, the national boating education standards, and Florida and California law and official publications. Each answer in the app shows its source. Laws change, so always check the current rules with your state.
Please tell us. Every question was checked against its source, but if one can be better, we want to fix it. Email the topic and what you think is wrong to the address at the top of this page.
