The story

Built between two watches

I was on a world trip on a sailboat and missed Flight Control, the iPad game that has been gone from the App Store for years. So I built my own take, on board, in the hours between watches.

The code was written with Claude Code. The icon, the sounds and the maps are my own and procedural; there is no AI-generated art in the game or in anything around it.

Android

Coming to Android

The same game, the same four maps, the same daily challenge — the whole thing is being ported to Android and is in closed testing now. It lands on Google Play in December 2026. No sooner: Google makes a new developer run a fourteen-day closed test before an app may go to the store, and that is time well spent on a game that has to feel right under your thumb.

Want a nudge when it is there? Email [email protected] with the word Android and you get one message on the day it goes live. Nothing else, and your address is used for that message only.

In het Nederlands: de Android-versie is in gesloten test en komt in december 2026 in de Play Store. Mail [email protected] met het woord Android, dan krijg je één bericht zodra hij er staat. Verder niets, en je adres wordt alleen daarvoor gebruikt.

Leaderboard empty, or your score not on it? You are signed in, but Scores shows only your own best runs. That is almost always a VPN, ad blocker or DNS filter on the device blocking Game Center's servers. Quick check: if the Home tab of the Apple Games app does not load either, this is it. Fix: allow gc.apple.com (and its subdomains) in your VPN or filter app, or turn off the DNS configuration under Settings › General › VPN & Device Management. Open Scores again; a score that could not go out is sent then.

Ranglijst leeg, of je score staat er niet op? Je bent ingelogd, maar Scores toont alleen je eigen potjes. Dat is bijna altijd een VPN, adblocker of DNS-filter op het toestel dat de servers van Game Center blokkeert. Snelle check: laadt het tabblad Home van de app Apple Games ook niet, dan is het dit. Oplossen: geef gc.apple.com (met subdomeinen) vrij in je VPN- of filterapp, of zet de DNS-configuratie uit onder Instellingen › Algemeen › VPN en apparaatbeheer. Open daarna Scores opnieuw; een score die niet weg kon gaat dan alsnog in.
